Moose Tracks ice cream revisited again!

Well I must report that Moose Tracks ice cream seems to be a flavor that is shared among grocery stores for their store brand products. This ice cream loving moose has seen the flavor at Pavilions and Ralph's and you don't see these two stores cooperating on too much now do you! Ralph's had the mint ice cream version of my namesake flavor and it differs a bit in that there are not mni chocolate PB cups in it but little mint chocolate cups...tasty guys, I don't have mint ice cream much but this is pretty tasty stuff.

Political Favorites - The Bull Moose Party.

While my owner is known as a bit of a Presidential junkie [you should see the stuff he has] [take a look on any 4th of July habitat photo for proof] both he and I share a great fondness for Teddy Roosevelt. He said he was as strong as a "Bull Moose" and when he contended as an independant Presidential candidate in 1912, it was as the head of the Bull Moose Party. Who else would this Moose vote for?, progressive, energetic, a founder of environmental conservation [important to this Moose!], Teddy is a fascinating person to read about and my favorite President. Summertime and the living is Moosey!

As you can see, me and my herd are chilling for summer fun. Lots of hats to help keep us cool and shady. I am hanging 10 on my board ready to hit the waves. Did you know that I am wearing a custom made shirt by my good friend Chris? Not bad sewing for a Librarian, shows talent she's a crafty one alright. More summer pics are on my Flickr site.

Moose Tracks update.

Hi, well I have now tried the vanilla Moose Tracks ice cream. Given my reputation for providing chocolate treats form my humans, I suppose that it is no big surprise that I prefer the chocolate Moose Tracks ice cream. Really no such thing as too much chocolate in the world isn't there!

A few words on my eating habits - thank goodness for M and M's!

Over the years my diet has varied to some extent. You know how it is when you live in the wilds of the library, one must eat what nature provides. Sustenance is all the more difficult for a herd of our size and as the leader of the herd, it can be a worrisome burden to bear wondering where our next meal will come from. My environs seem to support a seemingly inexhaustible supply of a round, chocolaty food item called "M and M's". The supply is so plentiful that I am able to share freely and with no restraint with my human herd too. I will say, that while my herd mates and I are happy with whatever variety of "M and M's" is currently in season, those humans seem to be a far pickier lot. Some only eat dark chocolate, some like peanut butter, others only those with nuts, while a select few are just happy to have their hunger satisfied with any old variety. Funny creatures these humans are, particularly with this chocolate stuff.

Herd Member of the Week - A Clockwork Moose.

My apologies in that I realize that it has been quite some time since I have introduced all of my loyal and faithful fans of me, your humble Library Moose, to one of my fellow herd members. Well wait no longer, well perhaps a bit longer while I finish this ramble, but ladies and gentlemen...and the rest of you too, meet "a clockwork Moose"! Yep, this guy is actually a clock, and joined the herd as a gift by a former cataloger [Hi Julie] who had a penchant for needing chocolate, lots of chocolate and greatly enjoyed my humble offerings. Clockwork Moose, can be found hanging around in my owner's office. I really do think it would be nice if my owner actually got a new battery for my herdmate as he only keeps accurate time twice a day right now.

Spammed comments.

Well, I guess this Moose's blog must be doing something right because I had to delete my second spam comment from one of my posts today. The price we have to pay for fame and fortune, right?

Don't forget to vote in my poll over to the left...

And I've updated my profile a bit too!

Something every Moose needs.

I have recently had a wonderfully amoosing email exchange with one of my earliest supporters. Mr. Joe, felt "You certainly deserve a walk in closet since you are so important to the morale of the library operation." Well now, who am I to argue with that kind of clear logic? Certainly having such a closet would allow for better storage of my habitat decorations. I wonder if my owner can talk the Library Director into providing better accommodations for this old Moose and his herd whenever we get a new Central Library?

Famoose people - "Moose" Skowron

C'mon now, who else would I choose as my favorite baseball player of all-time but Bill "Moose" Skowron? "Moose" is best known for playing with the NY Yankees in the late 50's and early 60's and that fact that my favorite player is a Yankee rankles my owner to no end. He is somewhat mollified by the fact that "Moose" did help his Dodgers to a World Series title in 1963. To further appease my owner, I include a pic of "Moose's" 1963 Dodger baseball card.

You should have seen this one coming....

Moose Tracks Ice Cream

Another favorite food item of this old Moose is "Moose Tracks" ice cream.
I found some at Pavilion's grocery store in town. The chocolate is very good but it also was available in vanilla. Yum, but I am debating as to whether or not I should share with my herd?

Famoose Celebrities.

Follow this link to a video by The Bobs. The Druid song features a camooseo appearance by yet another media Moose darling. He is the crux of the whole video, without his brief but powerful screen presence the whole show fails. I really don't know how TV and films survive with so little moosence on screen...such powerful stuff that I guess a little dab will do ya!

Oh all right, sheeze, that owner is such a pest at times, he insists that I mention that you should visit The Bobs website at the things that I endure because of him!

Food Favorite - Moosehead Beer.

What is better on a hot summer day, than a nice, ice cold bottle of this Moose's favorite beer, Moosehead! Eh, them Canadians have the right idea in naming such a great beer after such great animals. Check out their website it has a lot of features and you might even learn a thing or two about us Moose.

New Family Members in Maine!

Well now, word has spread of my humble and oh so modest blog and it is amazing how many family photos come my way. Look at this photo of my Sister and her new baby that was taken out in front of the house in Maine. Looks like a chip off the old antler doesn't the youngun'? As my Sister still isn't online on her own yet, I want to give a shout out to my man John Fuchs in New Hampshire for kindly forwarding the photos on to me. To see the full set of mother and child photos visit my Library Moose Photos on Flickr link. I hope to get all of my various habit photos and the such organized so keep checking back and there should be plenty more to see on Flickr! Amoosingly yours, The Library Moose.
